- Serves as the organizational lead in the areas of IT operations, tactical and operational planning, organizational effectiveness, contract, and vendor management, and IMT reporting.
- Supervises, evaluates, and develops the Data Management Team including the Database Administrator and Programmer Analyst.
- Responsible for developing external relationships, as appropriate, to identify and keep abreast of emerging trends and opportunities in IT.
- Supports the update and execution of initiatives supporting IT and Data Governance that drives transformation.
- Supports the evolution of the IT organization in a way that communicates the vision, strategy, priorities, and goals of the organization.
- Assists the Chief Information Officer in the development of IMT's organizational vision and IT strategic and operational plans, aligning IT priorities and actions in support of college-wide goals.
- Understands how IT decisions impact operations and develops operational strategies for communicating these decisions and achieving desired results.
- Develops, maintains, communicates, and executes processes for valuing IT services and works with IT service providers/vendors to enhance IT services based on user evaluations and other quality measures.
- Proposes, develops, and enhances IT-related initiatives that will strengthen campus-wide IT services, while helping the College operate more efficiently.
- Maintains a deep understanding of IT operations and service delivery across college business areas.
- Supports the weekly IMT Leadership team meetings and chairs the meeting in the absence of the AVP/CIO.
- Develops short and long-term approaches to the ERP environment to streamline operations and add value across the College.
- Supports campus online, remote, and various learning environments across the organization to lower overall IT costs, improve service delivery, and drive the highest quality user experience.
- Identifies strategies to manage, maintain, and secure CSM's IT infrastructure and continuously improve the security posture.
- Provides support in the development and execution of the ITM budget and supports initiatives including the Yearly Game Plan.
- Provides oversight for IT costs and ensures that the college is receiving the best service at the least cost.
- Works with vendors to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Manages project budgets.
- Serves as a member of college and professional groups including Information Technology Council, Information Security Committee, Information Systems Strategic Committee, Ren-Isac, SANS Advisory Board Member.
- Performs other related work as required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, or a related field and 6 years' experience (or) associate degree and 8 years' experience, (or) 10 years' experience leading an IT organization.
- Five or more years managing a multi-functional, highly motivated dynamic team.
- Eight or more years of successful experience in Information Technology and/or a closely allied field. (Preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of IT management and data security.
- Demonstrated project planning abilities.
- Demonstrated team building and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to promote teamwork and collaboration with staff internal and external to IMT.
- Talent for managing people and fostering an environment of positive employee engagement and trust.
- Ability to work with all levels of college personnel including executive staff.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead day-to-day IT operations in a high-performing organization.
- Strong project management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of IT systems and IT security.
- Demonstrated experience in team building and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Knowledge of internet services, web development, network security, and related technologies.
The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.WORK ENVIRONMENT
