Job Title: Lab Technician Job DescriptionJoin a dedicated team focused on the preparation and delivery of novel research test articles crucial for the preclinical evaluation of antibody-based cancer treatments. As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for preparing test articles, managing logistics for both domestic and international shipping, and supporting various Oncology Research Unit departments. You will handle materials such as Antibody Drug Conjugates, proteins, toxic linker payloads, and bioanalysis study samples. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining inventory, organizing samples, and enhancing the operational efficiency of our research team.Responsibilities
  • Maintain and audit robust inventories regularly.
  • Perform inventory recalling activities and fulfill sample preparation requests, including aliquoting and sample checks using UV-Vis.
  • Record materials promptly and manage Shipping and Receiving documentation.
  • Manage large reagent inventories using Freezerworks software.
  • Evaluate and develop new lab efficiencies for sample management and logistics processes.
  • Collaborate regularly with team members, demonstrating strong communication skills.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks independently, with a commitment to high-quality analysis and meticulous documentation.
  • Willingness to work with potent cytotoxic compounds while adhering to safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, excluding college coursework.
  • Experience in protein and/or antibody and small compound handling.
  • Practical and general knowledge of laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with automated lab equipment and protocols.
  • Experience working with protein liquid chromatography or spectroscopy instrumentation.
  • Experience with electronic lab notebooks and/or LIMS systems.
Work EnvironmentThe role involves working in a laboratory setting with potential exposure to cold environments. The work demands a high level of attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols when handling potent cytotoxic compounds.
