There will be additional opportunities within the EAC Transition Services program (i.e., Quest) and School Based Consultation and Training (i.e., Monarch); likewise, there will be potential collaborations and opportunities with other programs and services at EAC that work with autistic adults. The Fellow will receive outstanding training in supports and services for transition-age autistic individuals and their families, as well as school based consultation and training, and an array of related skills. The Fellow will receive clinical supervision from experts in the field of autism and the Fellow will be able to accrue supervised work hours towards professional licensure in Psychology if desired.JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Helps design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career.
- The specific area of research in which the trainee is mentored is determined by the department and laboratory of the Postdoc.
- Designs and evaluates experiments.
- Develops new ideas that promote current research.
- Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
- May be responsible for operation of specific equipment.
- May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff.
- Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.
- The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available.
- Appointments cannot exceed five years.
- Appropriate candidates will have obtained their doctoral degree in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Special Education, or other related applied fields.
- Strong experience in assessment and intervention with autistic individuals is required.
- Candidates should possess excellent scientific writing ability, strong oral communication skills, and outstanding interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Candidates with a background in working with autistic young adults and some experience with individual and group psychotherapy are preferred.
- Neurodivergent candidates are encouraged to apply.
- A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field.
- Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
