- Provides direct supervision of nursing supervisors, unit nurses, charge nurses and medication trained staff on each shift/area
- Makes rounds at units on a regular basis, providing supervision for unit nurses as well as follow up on quality assurance checks. Provides written reports on unit rounds.
- Listens to concerns of nurses regarding issues and reports concerns to Assistant Director and or Director of nursing services with recommendations for resolution.
- Makes follow up calls to parents/guardians regarding medical concerns or complaints
- Monitors and reconciles employee time in Kronos Workforce Central
- Obtains any necessary supplies and equipment for nursing services by submitting paperwork through proper channels.
- Participates in training unit/relief campus nurses. Provides in-services for nurses and other employees.
- Completes the initial Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) reports per 3800 and 6400 regulations and processes paperwork to Woods Quality Improvement department.
- Participates in regular meetings with Director of Nursing, Nursing Manager, Nurses, and MTS’s.
- Participates in surveys (inspections) by governing agencies.
- Communicates with the on-call providers to coordinate medical care
- Communicates, or assures communication, with families regarding health concerns.
- Oversees On the Job Training with new hires (OJT)
- Has knowledge of and demonstrates computer proficiency.
- Serves as weekend on-call Nursing Administrator, as scheduled.
- Maintains effective communication and working relationships with Woods’ administration and subordinates.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the department and enhance resident care.
- Current licensure as RN in Pennsylvania.
- A minimum of three (3) years management experience and two years’ experience in the field of MH/ID required, two (2) years’ experience in Med/Surg or related fields of Nursing preferred.
- Excellent physical assessment/triage skills.
- Valid BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, pursue clients on foot, physically restrain (with appropriate training), bend, squat, and reach. Must be able to stand for several hours at a time.
- Must be flexible to the needs of Woods regarding work hours and shifts.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
