Works under the supervision of the Surgical Services Nurse Manager. Ensures the provision of competent services by assisting in validating staff competences in accordance with AORN/AAMI guidelines. Displays knowledge of growth and development principles and provide direction according to policy & procedure. Maintains a safe working environment for staff/customers. May be expected to float to other RHS facilities for like competencies.What you will do
  • Engages with manager to provide physician with specialized needs for our customers and builds a trusting/collaborative relationship with follow up to manager of physician requests/concerns within 72 hours.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide a safe, efficient and supportive environment for the patient. Uses appropriate protective equipment, body mechanics, and follows safety guidelines and procedures; identifies and acts to resolve any variance or suspected noncompliance to management.
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced technical knowledge/clinical competencies in sterile processing as evidenced by the ability to assume a role in customer service as needed.
  • Creates and maintains an environment that provides integrated leadership and supervision of the work environment that produces a service/care delivery team that is efficient, competent, and professional in order to produce outcomes and results that meets and/or exceeds the strategic/facility/customer service goals of RHS.
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required) and
  • Program Graduate, Sterile processing or related program (Preferred)
Experience
  • 1 year Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Board Sterile Processing Distribution - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc Upon Hire(Required)
