- Interprets and/or works from sketches/blueprints/field drawings/written specifications or verbal/written orders on assigned tasks to determines nature/extent of the job, and the required procedures, tools, and materials such as pipe and regulator sizing; prepares Conducts site visits to scope out new gas services or maintenance requirements and coordinates work with customer, their contractor, and/or other internal support personnel. Requisitions stock supplies and equipment required for the job. Responsible for all assigned trucks, tools, equipment, and material; assures that assigned truck is adequately stocked and equipped before leaving for job site; creates parts reservations on computer or uses procurement card to purchase and restock truck inventory.
- Lays-out work directs helper and/or performs all job duties relating to LPG tank/cylinder installations, pipe fitting, tank exchanges, tank removals, equipment relocations and on-site maintenance requirements.
- Loads and delivers tanks and cylinders to customer premises; operates installation vehicle and boom truck as required and ensures that tanks/cylinders are set securely and safely.
- Determines the most effective methods of pipe routing, cuts and threads pipes and installs piping from tank/cylinder to the appropriate point of connection at the establishment.
- Installs pressure regulator according to specifications and verifies pressure Performs leak detection using approved methods to ensure the integrity of the installation and system. Lights pilots, checks, and adjusts appliances; refers the more specialized or problematic appliance adjustments to company service technicians or appliance dealer, as applicable.
- Performs gas pump-outs to facilitate tank exchanges, removals, or other maintenance; abandons gas lines following established procedures and/or processes. Coordinates tank truck requirements with delivery coordinator.
- Performs minor electrical disconnect/reconnects for gas
- Provides tank/cylinder operating instructions to customer, g., ordering bulk gas deliveries or switching over to the reserve gas cylinder.
- Performs related work and general maintenance of tanks in the field including Rust removal; pressure washing and painting; repairing or replacing fitting, regulators, and meters; servicing valves, etc.
- Performs as a crew leader in carrying out the duties required under the Tank Maintenance
- Inspects in-progress and completed Ensures compliance with applicable standards and/or codes including Company/Department procedures and policies, EH&S rules for a safe job site/project, the proper wearing of PPEs.
- Responsible for the job performance of the helper; provides directions and instructions to assigned personnel in the correct methods of performing work functions.
- Performs all the duties of a Tank Truck Driver.
- Provides customer service and extends at all times a courteous and tactful demeanor when dealing with customers or the public. Provides tank/cylinder operating instruction, e.g., ordering bulk gas deliveries or switching over to the reserve gas May advise or instruct consumer in the use and/or proper care of the tank, appliances, and equipment.
- Complies with and enforces all safety rules, regulations and practices in effect and established/adopted by the Promotes safety, safe work habits, and good housekeeping to include the reporting and rectifying, as qualified, any unsafe conditions or act. Maintains all EH&S training on a current basis.
- Performs clerical/administrative duties including the proper completion of applicable documents such as service orders, Equipment Data Checklist, time sheets, facility inspection checklists; inputs data into software using PC terminal following established procedures and prepares reports as required.
- Drives assigned vehicle.
