- Operate and oversee complex production machinery, including mixers, fillers, sealers, and packaging systems.
- Configure and optimize machine settings for varied production runs, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Mentor and train junior operators on machinery operation and best practices.
- Monitor the production line's performance, making real-time adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Analyze production data and identify trends to proactively address potential issues and optimize processes.
- Ensure that all production activities are executed in accordance with the established procedures and company policies.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Comply with and advocate stringent quality control procedures to ensure product consistency and safety.
- Conduct in-depth inspections and audits of products and processes, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of documented inspections, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to all safety protocols and procedures, and support safety initiatives on the production floor.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to address potential hazards.
- Contribute to initiatives to enhance production processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
- Mechanical aptitude and expertise in troubleshooting equipment.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety practices/regulations and sanitation standards.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to food production processes.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a food processing or production environment is preferred but not required. Experience in a kitchen, food service, or manufacturing environment is a plus. Experience with food preparation or handling is beneficial. Familiarity with food safety standards, including HACCP and GMP practices is helpful.
- Certifications: Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus, but not required.
- Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
- Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
- Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs over an entire shift.
- Ability to physically perform repetitive motions of grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid environment when performing sanitation tasks.
- Ability to use knives to cut open bags and dump 50lb bags at a high frequency.
