Capitol Aggregates is seeking a Chemistry Lab Intern to support our laboratory testing and analysis activities. This role offers hands-on experience in material science and cement chemistry, with opportunities to learn advanced testing methods and work directly with experienced chemists and engineers.What You’ll DoAssist with laboratory projects related to the analysis of raw materials, clinker, and cement chemistry.Capture, document, and enter laboratory data accurately and efficiently.Support material characterization using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and titration methods.Participate in pilot grind experiments and help with chemical and physical characterization of results.Assist with method development and improvement initiatives.Maintain lab equipment and work areas in a safe, organized, and clean condition.Abide by and support all company and plant safety policies, rules, and MSHA regulations.What You’ll BringProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.Curiosity and willingness to learn laboratory methods and analytical techniques.Education & ExperienceCurrently enrolled in a degree program in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.Background in chemistry, materials science, or civil/chemical/materials engineering preferred.Prior experience with laboratory or analytical testing methods is helpful but not required.Why You’ll Love This Role✔ Gain hands-on experience in cement chemistry and laboratory testing.
