Job Description:Vitalant is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I dedicated to making a positive difference. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in this role, you will:
  • Perform QC, maintenance, or schedule with vendors as needed, for lab equipment including refrigerators, freezers, centrifuges, pipettes, scales, water baths, platelet incubators, tube/heat sealers, sterile connection devices and alarm systems.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate repair or replacment of equipment, including vendor contact and follow up.
  • Manage equipment qualification, requalification and documentation in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Prioritize repair needs and escalate issues to ensure minimal operational downtime.
  • Bench test reagents for QC.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent (must receive MLS certification within 6 months of eligibility)
  • or
  • Bachelor's degree in approved Science (Biology, Chemistry, etc) and currently possess certification from an accredited agency as MT/MLS
  • State licensure as required by regulations
Experience
  • No experience needed with education/certification.
