Position DescriptionAs a Senior Manager, Procurement, your role will be to serve as a Business unit Integrator and act as a central point of contact for our Power business on all supply chain related activities and projects. You will coordinate with various stakeholders, manage cost savings projects, and contribute to overall strategy development.#LI-LB1#LI-HybridYou will do this by:Analyzing current and potential suppliers and developing strategic alliances with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing, flexible lead times and high standards of quality for a specific region or business unitMeasuring the performance of the supply base and ensures reporting processes are in placeDeveloping procurement strategies and conducting negotiationsLeveraging total cost reductions and quality improvement recommendationsEvaluating new material, supply and service developmentsReviewing and interpreting supplier contractsDriving continuous improvement activities throughout the functionPerforming full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budgetPerforming other duties as assignedYou are the type of person who is/has:Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including principles, methods and practices related to procurement and/or purchasingAbility to summarize complex projects & create summary presentations for executives that convey the critical factors in the project.Strong Attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to summarize complex projectsStrong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneouslyHighly developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations and interactions with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporationExcellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions and think strategicallyAbility to lead diverse teams through complex projectsThorough understanding of how to select and build appropriate supply strategies based on operational needsFluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or locationEducationBachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experienceExperience RequirementsMinimum of seven years of experience in supply chain or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Prior supervisory/management/leadership experience in a business or purchasing/procurement environmentPhysical & Environmental RequirementsDomestic and/or international travel as required up to 15%Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
