
GeoBase Survey Equipment Analyst

- Manage equipment for multiple projects, ensuring availability of survey equipment and software based on installation project needs
- Assign, procure, and replace appropriate equipment and/or instruments for all DAF installations
- Ensure proper maintenance of Air Force equipment, reporting required repairs immediately to maintain mission readiness at all times
- Ensure proper training and availability of survey staff at installations as needed:
- Train staff on field survey methods, site safety, and proper instrument use and care
- Create and update training documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) guidance
- Document DAF survey standards and workflow processes; create and update survey equipment user and maintenance guides
- Provide expert advice to client for suggested inputs to update Air Force Instruction (DAFI), Policy (AFPD), Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP), or other official guidance or standards
- Evaluate survey crew training and performance and provide survey mission improvement feedback, updating training and processes as needed
- Maintain and update COTS and GOTS design, survey, and mapping firmware and software
- Provide expert advice to AFCEC client regarding cutting edge survey technology
- Advise on the latest industry innovations when the client is replacing equipment and/or updating capabilities
- Utilize the GeoBase Agile framework to enable task visibility and project transparency to AFCEC client:
- Use Agile platform (Jira, Confluence) to record all processes and tasks, and manage all projects
- Create or update detailed DAF GeoBase Knowledge Base, documenting current workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), end user self-help, and GeoBase program functional processes
- Analyze current processes and recommend improvements or other best practice solutions
- U.S. citizenship
- Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), or security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening
- Experience with field survey equipment and processes
- Experience training end users in field survey data collection
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to read, write, and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedural documentation
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply them to real-world scenarios
- Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude

- Proficiency with Trimble or other surveying software
- Proficiency with Autodesk or other CAD software
- Proficiency with Esri or other GIS software
- Military survey experience, especially as a USAF 3E5, Army 12T, 21S, or 21T, USMC 1361 or 1421, Navy Seabee Engineering Aide, CEC, or FST, or other related background
- Experience with the DAF GeoBase program
- Proficiency with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard or experience with other defined spatial data models
- Experience using Agile methodologies, preferably with Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) software
- Experience with DoD geospatial data or systems
