Job Summary: We are looking for a Body Shop Paint Prepper to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a background in paint prepping, sanding and taping vehicles. Must have a positive attitude in the workplace. The day-to-day duties of this role include performing quality paint applications, accurately evaluating the repair order, and arranging timely delivery of prepping the vehicle for painter to achieve maximum efficiency.Benefits

ResponsibilitiesPromote an understanding of and strong dedication to client happinessMaintain up-to-date technical knowledge sufficient to properly and deftly complete painting assignmentsAlign with all applicable company and legal requirements controlling vehicle repairsAccurately evaluate nature and extent of work described on repair order; notifying estimator if portions of work are not necessary or additional materials/work are neededPlan efficient work procedures using technical manuals and knowledge of surface preparations and painting techniques; arranging to obtain timely delivery of paint and necessary materialsPerform quality paint application within timeframe and material allowances as well as according to guidelines by efficiently using appropriate/allocated toolsUtilize protective supplies as appropriate to ensure cleanliness of vehicleOperate lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment and access areasResponsible for cleaning, sanding, and applying chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to paintingMask and cover surfaces not to be painted; removing accessories such as chrome, mirrors and windshield wipersMix and thin paint or other coating to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color chartsSpray specified amount or thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamel, onto prepared surfacesQualificationsEducation and/or experience in paint repairA high school diploma or the equivalentUnderstanding and compliance with safety rules and practices as well as posted work rules and proceduresPositive outlook with a high-energy personalityAbility to read and comprehend instructionsAbility to exercise good judgment and critical thinkingValid driver’s license and clean driving recordSerpentini Auto Group has proudly been serving the Greater Cleveland region for over 40 years with our 6 locations in Strongsville, Medina, Orrville, Westlake, Tallmadge, and Willoughby Hills.
