- Permanent
- Full-time
- Collaborate with internal USSF exercise planners and external stakeholders to determine USSF exercise-related M&S requirements.
- Create orbital and terrestrial models and simulations using SWARM, STK, Paladin, and other applicable tools to develop M&S scenarios required to execute USSF exercises and mission-focused events.
- Support sustainment of software operations through interaction with Linux based virtual machines and Docker container management.
- Assist with developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for operational testing and acceptance of new M&S capabilities to determine the applicability of specialized or third-party M&S capabilities to meet USSF exercise requirements.
- Identify gaps and shortfalls in current M&S tools and recommend solutions to provide timely, realistic exercise capabilities.
- Provide assistance to USSF exercise planning conferences, coordination meetings, training events, etc.
- Participate as part of the Exercise Control Group (ECG) and White Cell, as required, for various exercises and mission-focused events.
- Capture, analyze, and report observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of exercises and mission-focused events.
- Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure mission success.
- Experience using STK, ODTK, and other M&S tools to plan analysis of orbital maneuvers, build functional orbital and space terrestrial models (e.g., space domain awareness (SDA), communications, electronic warfare, directed energy), and develop exercise scenarios.
- Experience supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis of national security space-related problems.
- Experience in space M&S capabilities for system evaluation and mission effectiveness.
- Experience (i.e., a basic proficiency) in coding languages (e.g., Python, Matlab, Perl)
- Experience (i.e., a basic proficiency) in interacting with Linux operating systems through the Terminal, managing Docker and/or Kubernetes deployments, or other similar management of software through a command line interface.
