SummaryThis is for a substitute teaching role with variable hours each week and variable shifts: full days (9-4), morning (8-12), or afternoon shifts (12-4) as needed - to help cover teachers regular shifts. Must have knowledge and passion for working with young children (2-5 years old) and value being outdoors. Relationships are of the utmost importance, and we're in need of someone who can connect and communicate effectively with teachers, children, and their parents. If you like to read books to children, work on small crafts, or just play with kids - this is a great role for you! Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Old School is a nature-based preschool with the goal of playing and learning outdoors.Duties
Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of working with young children.
Desire to be outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to work well with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
An understanding of child development.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
