- Assigns volunteers to children in cases of child abuse/neglect; provides supervision and support to volunteers to ensure compliance with law, policy and program's objectives regarding the best interest of the children. Provides assistance with the preparation for court and court reports and attends hearings with volunteers as required and appropriate.
- Maintains accurate child and case specific information in the database; coordinates the receipt of monthly monitoring reports (MMR) and inputs data into the database while maintaining a tracking system of monthly monitoring reports received.
- Assist with training new and existing volunteers according to program guidelines. Assist with recruiting a diverse and sufficient pool of volunteers so that all cases can be assigned to a volunteer and maintain policy guidelines regarding case assignments to staff and volunteers.
- Performs administrative functions for the county office that promote effective and efficient achievement of program goals and objectives.
- Perform direct child advocacy as the court appointed Guardian ad Litem when there is an inadequate pool of volunteers to serve in this capacity.
- Completes any special assignments or tasks as assigned by PCII.
- A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion concerning confidential information and case management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, co-workers and partner agencies.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks, prioritize scheduling and organization required.
- Ability to train and supervise volunteers. Knowledge of computer applications and data entry.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Position may require overnight travel.
- Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.
- Position requires routine driver duties.
- Position requires frequent lifting: 25 lbs.
- Position requires non-essential declaration.
- Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
