Zions Bancorporation has an opportunity for an Information Technology Operations Manager with cloud, application, ITSM, and strong operational leadership experience to join the Digital Strategy team that works on projects to expand our digital presence through cutting edge technologies. Your ability to adapt, learn, and innovate helps increase revenue, reduce operational costs, mitigate risk, and, most importantly, lead to the superior experience and success of our clients.As an IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the cloud-native, innovative, safe, and sound foundation for our in-house developed digital solutions.The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to effectively lead cross-functional teams in collaborative design, build, and run activities dealing with complex infrastructure and challenges. You will be outcome driven and have a passion for the field of application and infrastructure operations and delivery in the cloud, and possess empathy with a drive to create outstanding experiences and improved solutions for our users.This individual will:
  • Lead a technology and operations team in support of critical business functions to meet digital strategy initiative objectives.
  • Guide the team on their journey toward cloud best practices for safety. soundness, and achieving time-sensitive business outcomes.
  • Cultivate relationships with all stakeholders including business, product, technology, risk, suppliers, and operations.
  • Ensure the uptime and availability of mission critical applications through proactive management of software, demand, monitoring systems, and interfaces.
  • Ensure the team has the needed technical skills, competencies, business domain expertise, process knowledge, industry sector knowledge, and capacity to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships, as needed, ensuring the vendors’ performance and contributions align with objectives and strategy.
  • Manage the total cost of ownership, annual budgeting and forecasting of the team including software, FTE/contractors, and professional services.
  • Serve as a Technology Foundation Product Owner/Project Manager (POPM) through Agile/Kanban-style value delivery system.
  • Other duties as assigned (including supporting on-call activities and change management responsibilities outside of normal business hours).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related degree. Professional Certifications (ex. ITIL, SAFe, CKA, etc.) are highly desired.
  • 8+ years’ experience leading, mentoring, and cultivating a high-performing team of cross-functional IT operations engineers.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading and/or influencing cloud ready and cloud-native infrastructure delivery, leveraging public cloud services. Azure Cloud experience is a plus. Experience with a combination of the following solutions is desired; Endpoint Management, Networking, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Automation, Middleware, ITSM, etc.
  • Experience in delivering toward SOC 2 Type II or other technology compliance certifications in Fintech or Banking industries is highly desired.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to communicate effectively with senior business and technical management, vendors, and team members.
  • Proven ability to interact with others to identify, analyze and solve IT incidents and problems through close attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills.
Pay Range:
$115,000 – $170,000 (Based upon relatable skills/experience)Location:
This position requires regular face-to-face interaction with teams, business stakeholders, and executives in Salt Lake City, Utah. We will consider candidates in the Salt Lake City area or able to relocate to the Salt Lake City area.Benefits:
