McKinley DriveTampa, Florida 33612Your Specific Responsibilities:Provides support during project implementation phase. Includes attendance at project meetings; interaction with project Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI), contractors, vendors and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); and participation in project acceptance testing and signal inspections. Maintains a tracking system of projects that include signalization work. Prepare and manage traffic signal regulations.Assists in the management of the Traffic Operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems budget where applicable. Participates in Plans Reviews. Assists in management and inventory of signal equipment within the warehouse for maximum efficiency of operations and space. Facilitates furnishing signal equipment in support of equipment needs or Emergency Operations Recovery Efforts.Develops and manages traffic operations contracts, Work Program projects, and other types of agreements (maintenance and operations) that support traffic operations. This includes project management responsibilities associated with procuring contracts, issuing task work orders, reviewing contract deliverables, reviewing and processing invoices, coordinating Department personnel and other agencies associated with work under the contract, preparing contract correspondence, maintaining project files, and actively participating in project meetings. Participates on contract-related Technical Review Committees (TRCs).Manages and holds Traffic Management meetings with local maintaining agencies. Participates in meetings, on committees, task teams and other groups with internal and external represent traffic operations interests. Includes providing useful commentary and review of work products, as well as developing correspondence and follow-up contact as needed.Receives signal operations concerns, investigates and responds appropriately. Conducts field investigations to support safety or operational improvements. Utilizes the maintenance management system to identify and program and track maintenance resources where applicable. Incumbent of this position has a purchasing card which allows a maximum single purchase exceeding $20,000 and has a financial disclosure responsibility in accordance with Section 112.3145, Florida Statues.Performs engineering review and analysis for freeway and/or arterial management that includes signal operating plan development. Assists in development of Freeway Management System (FMS)/Arterial Management System (AMS) network maintenance and operations performance reports.Manages the Road Ranger Incident Management Service Patrol program, Rapid Incident Scene Clearance (RISC) program and Traffic Incident Management (TIM) teams, if applicable. Manages the Arterial Monitoring effort.The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:

Minimum Qualifications:A high school diploma and three years of engineering, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), traffic signal experience, or relevant employment experience developing or administering contracts relating to IT systems; or An associate of arts or science degree in engineering technology or similar relevant area of study and one year of engineering, ITS, traffic signal, or relevant employment experience developing or administering contracts relating to IT systems; or A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, computer science, engineering technology or similar relevant area of study; or Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and has an Engineer in Trainee (EIT) certification in either Florida or another State; or An active International Municipal and Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signals, Traffic Signal Inspector, or Fiber Optics in ITS certification; Fiber Optics in ITS certification; or An active Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification; or A high school diploma and three years of contract experience; or An associate of arts or science degree and one year of contract experience.The State's total compensation package for employees features a highly competitive set of employee benefits including:
