The Town of Milton is a contemporary suburban community in eastern Massachusetts that prides itself on tree-lined streets, rich diversity, and acres of protected open space. The Milton Public Schools serves just over 4,400 students. The district consists of four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. In addition, Milton offers a developmental preschool, before and after school programs and summer school programs. Relative to other suburban school districts in the Metro West and South Shore areas of Massachusetts, the Milton Public Schools is uniquely diverse, with roughly one third of the student population being non-white and roughly 13% being identified as low income.Job Description:Full time / Year round position. You will work 7.5 hours a day; 37.5 hours a week , you are entitled to enroll in Town of Milton health, life, dental and you will join Town Retirement System.●Assist the Director with communication on application timelines, FAFSA, required paperwork
●Work with Counselors to maintain transcripts and ensure deadlines are met for college applications
●Prepare and transmit seniors' transcripts (initial, mid-year, and final)
●Ensure families receive communication regarding graduation status
●Pull data from Naviance on transcript requests and coordinate student application deadlines with Counselors
●Manage transcript requests (official/unofficial for colleges, NCAA, verifications)
●Assist with testing coordination (PSAT, SAT, AP, MCAS, WIDA)
●Update and maintain permanent records in compliance with state and school policies
●Complete graduation verification for graduates
●Maintain up-to-date computer records (senior scores, applications, post-graduation plans)
●Enter transfer courses into PowerSchool
●Assist with Group Guidance Program including materials organization
●Process department correspondence including recommendation letters
●Handle incoming calls from students, parents, and external partiesQualifications
●Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with attention to detail
●Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, PowerSchool, Naviance and College Board
●Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations and to interact in a professional manner with students, parents, and staff
●Ability to work independently and part of a team with excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability
●Ability to prioritize tasks and assignments in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
