Job Responsibilities and RequirementsPosition Summary:The Supervisor Integrated Claims (DI/FMLA) will supervise a team of Claims Examiners as they investigate, evaluate and determine benefit eligibility of Disability and Leave of Absence claims in a timely fashion. Supervisor will also be responsible for developing and sustaining excellent client relationships.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervisor will ensure compliance with policy, provisions, state and federal regulations.
  • Team will exercise expense management through investigation, appropriate follow up, case management and claim settlements.
  • Coordinate appropriate assessment and assignment of customer to suitable claims examiner.
  • Promote effective working relationships among team and Sales, Underwriting and Brokers.
  • Responsible for assisting in implementation of new accounts and ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
  • Responsible for selection, development, motivation, appraisal and salary recommendations of reporting subordinates.
  • Provide effective leadership as well as technical claim and/or product knowledge, achieving results through others.
  • Clearly expresses ideas in oral, written and presentation form.
  • Ability to interact, negotiate and respond to both internal customers and clients regarding claim administration, product or service issues, with positive problem-solving skill.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage changing workloads, meeting deadlines independently and through management of others.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Work experience considered primary in some cases.
  • Prior experience working with Disability Claims Management required - preferably seeking 5(+) years’ experience or longer
  • Management or Team Lead experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in providing internal and external customer service.
  • Strong decision making capabilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
