Position Highlights The Arizona Student Unions is seeking multiple positions for full-time Baristas (Dining Services Attendant) to join our Starbucks team. The Arizona Student Unions consist of both the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) and the Global Center, as well as Highland Market and several of convenience stores and food stops around campus. This position contributes to Starbucks/University of Arizona success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. This job creates the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.The Student Union Memorial Center is one of the largest student unions in the United States. The SUMC contains everything students need-restaurants, retail spaces, a bank, lounges, study/meeting rooms, and a computer lab. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Upholds Starbucks and the Arizona Student Unions standards by providing consistently excellent customer experience, and superb product quality.
  • Prepares and serves espresso/coffee products and serves pastries and other products, while maintaining Starbucks standards.
  • Sets up/closes espresso bar, pastry case.
  • Replenishes workstation as needed and maintains a clean working environment.
  • Keeps work area clean and makes sure all temperatures are correct.
  • Sets up and breaks down all production areas.
  • Takes and rings up orders accurately.
  • Works harmoniously with co-workers.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Swipes CatCard, Starbucks Card, Credit/Debit Card, or accepts money and returns correct change.
  • Manages the cash register as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Starbucks culture, values, and mission.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and quality food service standard.
  • Knowledge of weights and measure.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able occasionally transport/move a maximum of 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; OR, high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
