Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and finance operations of our client. This is a hybrid role. The controller is a critical leadership role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring a proactive, process-driven leader with deep experience in complex corporate settings.The Controller will oversee the close process, financial reporting, tax, and provide internal control oversight in coordination with outsourced audit partners. The role involves close collaboration with Treasury, FP&A, IT, and executive leadership.Key Responsibilities:Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting packages.Own the general ledger, consolidation process, and statutory compliance across multiple legal entities.Direct oversight of the Accounting TeamCoordinate and review work from the Tax Team (4 FTEs) and support external tax advisors.Collaborate with Treasury on cash flow, intercompany transactions, and funding activities.Partner with IT on the SAP S/4HANA implementation, ensuring finance requirements are met.Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and internal controls.Support SOX/internal control audits with outsourced internal audit providers.Provide mentorship and development to staff, especially supporting growth of Assistant Controller.Ensure compliance with US GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.Prepare and present reporting packages to executive leadership as needed.Qualifications:15+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience, ideally in large, complex corporate environments.Strong background in US GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems.Hands-on leadership experience managing accounting operations and large teams.SAP S/4HANA experience highly preferredDemonstrated success in fast-paced, transformational environments.Proven ability to lead and execute during year-end close and system upgrades.CPA strongly preferred.Excellent communication and organizational skills; executive presence and influence.Comfortable being in the details and strategic at the same time.Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
