
Robotic Welding Instructor - 1st Shift

- Instructing robotic programs, Technical Manuals, procedures and drawings.
- Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests
- Training Cad/Cam,
- Instructing the various Robotic welding machines used and their potential hazards.
- Instruct the requirements of a final visual examination of Robotic welded joints.
- Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
- Meeting with HR Business Partners regarding student performance as needed
- Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
- Communicate with other Training shifts to advance work and communicate issues
- Supporting special training projects as required
- Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned
- General shift hours Approximately 1st Shift hours (6:00am – 2:30pm with flexibility to adjust hours as necessary to support business need
- Ability to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)
- The individual must be flexible to support short term training assignments on all shifts as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years Welding experience in GMAW or SMAW or welding training/qualifications or equivalent experience (fabrication/fitting/CAD/CAM, CNC etc.)
- Must be currently working in department 343 or 341
- Mechanically and computer inclined and capable of interpreting robotic programs, technical manuals, procedures and drawings
- Available to work all shifts / modified work week
- Basic mathematic skills
- Structural or Pipe RT Hand welding experience
- CAD/CAM training
- Electric Boat Apprentice
- Robotic system training
- Mechanized or Track welding, UT / RT welding experience
- Experience in computer programming or automation
- Skilled in the use of computers, specifically in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
- Technical knowledge of Robotic System Operation
- Knowledge of the EB operating practices of fabrication and manufacturing
- Ship fitting / Ship building experience
- Basic understanding of the NDT acceptance criteria for structural components
- Experienced in lifting and handling
- Have a strong ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex tasks and projects
- Have a strong ability to lead and direct in a classroom environment
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Have experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Have a strong commitment to teaching others and leading student classes
- Have a demonstrated commitment to customer-service, safety & procedure compliance
- Have a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as needed
