Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.What You Will DoThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Software Safety Engineer to join us on the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) System Safety team in Tewksbury, MA.As a Software Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Analysis of engineering software, and/or firmware, IAW MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, etc.
  • Work with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code.
  • Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds.
  • Assist with Software and/or Firmware analyses.
  • Participate in the execution of the Software System Safety Program
  • Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
  • Assist with preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval
  • Assist with software safety technical reviews.
  • Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Experience with Computer Science, Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering.
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
