The students have a variety of educationally related disabilities and may also have underlying medical diagnoses. This full time position serves students in ECSE.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Evaluating school-related function fine motor, sensory-motor, and self-help skills within the scope of occupational therapy practice as designated by the Missouri Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
  • Providing a continuum of occupational therapy intervention from consultation to supporting designated goals in the Individualized Educational Plan or access to the school environment.
  • Completing, monitoring and supporting the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) through collaboration with other IEP team members.
  • Communicating with parents regarding occupational therapy evaluation of intervention services on a regular scheduled basis.
  • Providing in-services to educators, paraprofessionals, and other specialists on the role of the occupational therapist in the schools.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as needed.

For information on polices, regulations and values, visitREPORTING RELATIONSHIPSReports To: Supervisor of OT/PT and Adapted PESupervises: NoneQUALIFICATIONSMinimum: Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited OT program; Must be listed on the professional registry and licensed in the state of Missouri; Experience in providing OT to children is required.Preferred: Experience serving children in a public school setting is preferred; Advanced training in school-based practice is a plus, as well as experience in serving children with autism and/or multiple disabilities.Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
