- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to critically test, evaluate, and improve every detail of AOC combat
- Profile, analyze, and improve combat systems for CPU, GPU, memory, and network performance at scale
- Complement the team with your unique background developing great feeling combat
- Create and document complex systems in a clear manner, including technical design documents and code reference documentation.
- A minimum of 3 years of working full time as an engineer in a game engine, preferably Unreal
- A minimum of 1 year working full time on combat in a multiplayer title
- Ability to articulate (both in written and verbal methods) implementation details about the systems driving combat and how to leverage them to make great feeling combat
- A positive, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset that works well with other developers, including developers from disciplines besides engineering
- Experience with version control such as Git and Perforce
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related equivalent experience
- A passion for critically analyzing, distilling, and developing great feeling combat
- A passion for playing and developing MMO games
- Familiarity with Ashes of Creation
- Experience with AAA game development
- At least one shipped title
- A portfolio that demonstrates examples of combat that you have worked on in previous projects
- A portfolio that demonstrates a keen eye for detail and the ability to create maintainable, high-quality code
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to guide and mentor engineers in their efforts
