The Public Safety Instructor plays a vital instructional role in delivering both classroom and hands-on training for adult students enrolled in EMT and Paramedic programs. Responsibilities include implementing state-approved curriculum, facilitating learning experiences that align with Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) standards, and preparing students for state certification exams. The position also supports student success by fostering a professional learning environment that reflects real-world workplace expectations and promotes technical and career readiness.Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must maintain:Valid Ohio Department of Education Adult Education Teaching Permit issued by the Ohio State Board of Education or the ability to obtain oneValid Ohio EMS Instructor Certification with Ohio Department of Emergency Services or the ability to obtain onePEPP, ACLS, GEMS, APCO, EMS, BLC, and Stop the Bleed Instructor CertificationsEffective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral, and written communication, and organizational skillsDocumented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Auburn Career Center Board PolicyMust comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39 - Criminal Records CheckMust pass drug screen at the time of hire and comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988Application Deadline:Applications will be reviewed upon receipt, and qualified candidates may be contacted and scheduled for interviews immediately.
