- Serve as the cybersecurity architecture point of contact for product and engineering teams, helping them understand and implement security design principles across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-prem environments
- Advise teams directly on architecture decisions, threat models, and secure control implementation as an integrated member of their workflows
- Translate security requirements into practical solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring systems are resilient, scalable, and compliant
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams to review current states, identify control gaps, and guide future-state security designs
- Support the development and iteration of infrastructure-as-code and platform-level controls, particularly within Spring-based and Struts-driven applications
- Help drive the decomposition of monolithic systems into secure, well-architected services
- Participate in and support incident response efforts to identify root causes and recommend long-term mitigation strategies
- Contribute to the evolution of cybersecurity reference architectures and advocate for consistent implementation across teams
- Partner with compliance, legal, and risk stakeholders to ensure architecture supports regulatory alignment (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR, GLBA)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or cybersecurity roles, with at least 4 years specifically focused on security architecture
- Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure-especially AWS-including familiarity with native services, IAM, and automation
- Deep understanding of modern architecture patterns including Zero Trust, containerization, DevSecOps, and software-defined networking
- Experience with threat modeling, control design, and application security in distributed systems
- Ability to clearly articulate security requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences, driving alignment across teams
- Hands-on knowledge of tools and frameworks including Spring, Struts, and supporting technologies used in monolith-to-microservice transformations
- Familiarity with authentication protocols and standards such as SAML, OAuth, OIDC, as well as secrets management and encryption strategies
- Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
- Excellent consultative skills-you know how to guide without dictating, and you influence through credibility, clarity, and collaboration
- Experience working in Agile teams and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines
- Relevant certifications: CISSP, CISA, AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CEH, or OSCP
- Experience implementing or advising on cloud-native transformations in Fortune 1000 or mission-critical environments
- Proficiency with AWS security frameworks and tooling, including experience with container orchestration (e.g., EKS, Fargate, Lambda)
- Past experience in industries with complex regulatory requirements (e.g., finance, healthcare, telecommunications)
- Experience from a consulting environment or large-scale enterprise is a strong plus
