Senior Controls Engineer responsible for designing and developing industrial control systems and PLC programs for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) across Amazon Logistics North America.Core Technical Responsibilities:- Design and implement complex control systems using Allen Bradley PLCs and CODESYS
- Develop hardware/firmware interfaces and IoT solutions
- Create and maintain PLC/HMI software and vision systems
- Establish electrical and controls design standards
- Implement system health monitoring and self-healing automationProject Leadership:- Manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously
- Lead technical design reviews for control systems and simulations
- Coordinate with global design teams and vendors
- Drive process improvements and technical implementation
- Review and integrate new MHE technologiesTechnical Expertise:- Industrial networks (Ethernet, safety over ethernet IP)

Your work is very hands-on and multi-disciplinary. You will be working closely with vendors, cross-functional engineers, and project teams. You lead design reviews, write and troubleshoot PLC code, documents, demonstrate proof-of-concepts, build prototypes, and manage stakeholder expectations.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant (reliable and scalable) software solutions in production
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or computer science, Engineering Technology, or other related Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in Electrical/Control systems in a relay/PLC based controls design, development, implementation in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production / manufacturing environment
- 2+ years' experience directly developing control strategies in CODESYS.
- Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards (IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
