We want people who want to meaningfully contribute to the team while continuing to grow their individual skills.POSITION SUMMARY:Heirloom is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Property Inspector/Project Assistant to join our team in Duluth, MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in home inspections, building construction, remodeling, mechanical systems, and/or property upkeep. They will be responsible for conducting thorough yearly inspections of our entire portfolio of managed properties, creating detailed reports for property owners, and recommending necessary repairs and upgrades. The Property Inspector/Project Assistant will also assist with project management tasks, such as providing estimates for property upkeep and entering timecards and receipts in the corresponding tracking software. This role requires excellent communication skills, as the inspector will need to coordinate with tenants, owners, and the Heirloom team to ensure inspections are completed efficiently and any issues are promptly addressed.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete yearly property inspections of Heirloom's full portfolio of managed properties
Schedule inspections, notify tenants in occupied units, re-schedule missed or canceled inspections as needed
Complete inspections with enough lead time to schedule and complete needed repairs or upgrades during upcoming tenant turns when possible
Create clear, detailed, and easy to understand reports, including pictures, of each inspected property for the owner
Flag immediate maintenance or safety issues that are found during inspections
Recommend future capital improvements, as needed, for each property
Answer owner questions about completed inspections by email or phone
Provide estimates for simple property upkeep needs such as new carpet, paint, LVP flooring, etc.
Enter timecards and project receipts in the corresponding tracking software in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience in home inspection, building construction, remodeling, mechanical systems, or property maintenance.
Valid Drivers License, Insurance, and Reliable Automobile
Well versed in Word, Excel, and Adobe
Some customer service or client facing background preferred
