They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel classified in this job title.SUMMARYUnder the direction and guidance of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of baggage handling and conveyor systems in all airport facilities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspect conveyor systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnoses cause and/or failures in conveyor systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components of conveyor systems, including belt alignment, motor lubrication, and sensor calibration, to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Repairs conveyor systems and/or components for the purpose of ensuring efficient airport operations
  • Documents all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in compliance with CCAA and OSHA standards, generating reports for regulatory audits and internal review.
  • Requests for equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
  • Manages inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials, ensuring timely reordering and accurate tracking to support efficient repairs.
  • Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Handles general maintenance repairs, such as electrical, electronics, plumbing, masonry, painting, metal fabrication and carpentry as needed.
  • Maintains vehicles, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating conditions.
  • Operates equipment and uses hand tools safely in the performance of all duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience with conveyor systems required, three or more years' experience preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Certification in conveyor maintenance (e.g., from CMAA) or OSHA safety training preferred.
  • A valid Florida Driver's License is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Able to problem solve independently or seek assistance.
  • Knowledge of operating equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance of conveyor systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures, and ability to conduct risk assessments for conveyor operations.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, welding, and fabrication for conveyor modifications. Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
  • Requires 24-hour/7-day on-call status.
  • Capable of working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat.
  • Good visual acuity to work inside under artificial lighting and in bright sunlight.
  • Skilled with aviation and ground base radio systems or similar equipment.
  • Able to lift 70 pounds, push, pull, climb and walk for extended periods.
