Position OverviewUnder the guidance of the Technical Services Manager, you'll perform ASTM-standard tests on concrete and raw materials to guarantee the highest quality and ensure products meet exact specifications. You'll become a trusted resource for our customers, providing expert support on concrete performance, mix design, and technical specifications.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct seven ASTM tests on plastic concrete samples, including slump, air, yield, temperature, moisture, and related analyses.
  • Lead and instruct batch plant teams in scheduled testing and quality procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and issues professionally, strengthening client relationships.
  • Collect and sieve rock and sand samples to maintain high quality standards.
  • Manage and deliver test cylinders between batch plants and our state-of-the-art research lab.
  • Ensure compliance with ASTM specifications and ACI standards in all testing and reporting.
  • Keep laboratory equipment calibrated and in optimal condition.
  • Document and report test results, maintaining accurate records of all projects.
  • Conduct safety training, including slump school for drivers and staff.
  • Take on special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, consistently observing safety regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with batch plant teams to optimize concrete production.
Who We're Looking For
  • Experience: At least two years' experience in concrete quality control testing and mix design preferred.
  • Certifications: ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification highly preferred. Additional certifications in Aggregate Testing and Hardened Properties (Compressive Cylinders) a plus.
  • Skills: Proficient in ASTM and ACI testing procedures; capable of calibrating equipment, analyzing results, and solving complex problems. Excellent decision-making and communication skills required.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using computers to record data and generate reports.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift to 50 pounds and handle the demands of an active, field-based role.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college coursework in a related field is preferred.

  • Work in an environment with exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, and all-weather conditions.
