- Conduct seven ASTM tests on plastic concrete samples, including slump, air, yield, temperature, moisture, and related analyses.
- Lead and instruct batch plant teams in scheduled testing and quality procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and issues professionally, strengthening client relationships.
- Collect and sieve rock and sand samples to maintain high quality standards.
- Manage and deliver test cylinders between batch plants and our state-of-the-art research lab.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM specifications and ACI standards in all testing and reporting.
- Keep laboratory equipment calibrated and in optimal condition.
- Document and report test results, maintaining accurate records of all projects.
- Conduct safety training, including slump school for drivers and staff.
- Take on special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, consistently observing safety regulations.
- Coordinate closely with batch plant teams to optimize concrete production.
- Experience: At least two years' experience in concrete quality control testing and mix design preferred.
- Certifications: ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification highly preferred. Additional certifications in Aggregate Testing and Hardened Properties (Compressive Cylinders) a plus.
- Skills: Proficient in ASTM and ACI testing procedures; capable of calibrating equipment, analyzing results, and solving complex problems. Excellent decision-making and communication skills required.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using computers to record data and generate reports.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift to 50 pounds and handle the demands of an active, field-based role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework in a related field is preferred.
- Work in an environment with exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, and all-weather conditions.
