- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software, including setting up the operating system, network, storage, and security parameters.
- Database Management: Create, manage, and maintain Oracle databases, including building storage structures, managing users and security, and managing schema objects like tables, indexes, and views.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance performance through SQL tuning, indexing, and other techniques.
- Backup and Recovery: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, ensuring the integrity and availability of data.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, authentication, encryption, and auditing.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, working with development teams and users to ensure seamless database operations.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Proactively monitor database health, space utilization, and resource consumption, and perform regular maintenance activities like patching and updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support database-related tasks and initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Proven work experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with knowledge of Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with database backup procedures, recovery systems, and Oracle security features.
- Experience with Oracle tools and technologies such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
- Knowledge of different operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows.
