(Student) Summer Athletics & Camps Assistant

- Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating files and record keeping systems
- Generate reports, memorandums, correspondence, presentation materials, spreadsheets, graphics, and other materials using various software programs.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and faxes
- May be responsible for greeting visitors, as well as answering and routing incoming calls
- Set up and tear down events
- Oversee events at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex
- Assist with special events and functions as needed
- Coordinate all promotions for student Life Programs for DU TV and plasma screens (average 3-4 per month)
- Assist with the security of the building and safety of the customers, while continuously monitoring doors and incoming/outgoing guests, as well as paying attention to the surrounding areas
- Welcome and assist persons entering the Student Center. By greeting customers as they enter the building, the attendant helps create a sense of community.
- Give facility tours for prospective groups and organizational use
- Assemble information packets
- May assist with laundry and distribution of athletic equipment.
- Update and maintain Student Life website with calendar events, links to performer websites and upcoming activities, registration forms, etc.
- Update and maintain Student Life social media pages
- Greet opposing teams and officials and bring them to their locker rooms - may serve as line judge for volleyball contests
- May assist with concessions - responsible for handling money from event sales
- Assist students, staff, faculty and visitors in signing in to use the fitness center Assist students, staff, faculty and visitors in signing in to use the fitness center
- May be responsible for opening and closing the fitness center
- Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
- Advise facility users on proper equipment usage
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress.
- Must be able to communicate professionally to coaches, players, and fans.
- Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or Saturday as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required.
- Previous customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe).
- Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
- Must be highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the university.
- Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
- Some travel between locations required (own transportation). No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
