Responsibilities(50%)* Under the direction of the nurse, prioritizes and organizes care of assigned patients, performing basic nurse's aide skills as outlined in orientation, competencies, policies, and procedures.(25%)* Documents on patient's chart any treatments and pertinent observations as directed by the RN. Provides report to team on tasks completed. Immediately communicates significant information to the RN such as changes in the patient's behavior or condition. Follows emergency procedures in the event of any emergency situation such as accident, injury, or significant change in the patient's condition.(25%)* Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Maintains a high level of confidentiality. Remains awake, alert, calm, and professional.
- Does NOT take independent action(s) with patients. Tasks must be directed or approved by the RN.
- Other duties as assigned by the RN or management leader.

Equivalent Experience: New hires or transfers must hold an internal MyMichigan Health Patient Care Technician certification, OR successful completion of one semester of nursing clinical education by an Accredited Registered Nurse Program. Employees may also hold a current State of Michigan registry document as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan, Medical Assistant with the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR equivalent Medical Assistant Credential such as Certified Clinical Medical Assistant CCMA, etc.
Required EducationEducation: High School Diploma or GED
Equivalent Experience: Must be a current nursing student enrolled in a qualifying nursing program.

- Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief and death.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
- Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
- Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
- Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
- Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
- Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
- Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently (34-66% of) the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
