Our Early Learning Center Teachers work in one of our We have Early Learning Centers located in our Fercho YMCA and Schlossman YMCA branches, as well as three Early Learning Centers located in Fargo and West Fargo.Our are so much more than just your typical daycare! We provide quality, licensed care for infants - preschool children (children ages 6 weeks to 5 years). Our curriculum incorporates math, science, dramatic play, music, and art to provide opportunities for group and independent learning experiences. All of our sites are accredited by - the National Association for the Education of Young Children.As a Childcare Teacher at the Y, you will:
  • Promote a healthy, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical environment for each child. Your compassion will show through as you interact with children and guide their learning.
  • Be responsible for the safe supervision of the assigned group of children while planning a creative curriculum environment.
  • Plan daily lessons, child assessments, and curriculum with a variety of activities to enhance gross and fine motor skills, social/emotional development, and provide children with sensory and cognitive experiences.
  • Oversee the Assistant Teacher, Classroom Assistant, and Learning Center Leaders while in the classroom.
  • Engage in positive staff-child interactions along with positive parent-teacher interactions, as well as maintaining good communication with the Classroom Assistants and Early Learning Center Director.
  • Be a role model for the children by presenting yourself in a confident, dignified manner.
Pay:
  • ELC Teacher 1: $17.75/hour
  • ELC Teacher 2: $21/hour
  • ELC Teacher 3: $22.25/hour

Qualifications:
  • ELC Teacher 1: 6 months of experience working with children
  • ELC Teacher 2: 1 year of experience working with children, plus Child Development Associate (CDA) or a 2-year degree in a related field, or a 4-year degree in a non-related field
  • ELC Teacher 3: 4-year degree in a related field
And must also complete:
  • Within 90 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED Certification for Adult, Child, and Pediatrics
  • Within 90 days of hire: 15 hours of basic childcare training through Child Care Aware
