Our client, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team. Based in the South Suburbs near Crest Hill, IL, this role will be essential in managing and advancing daily quality operations.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the plant's quality management system (QMS).
  • Ensure products meet all internal and external specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Lead and manage the QA/QC team, including chemists, lab technicians, and inspectors.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality-related issues.
  • Manage internal audits and coordinate third-party audits (e.g., ISO certifications, customer audits).
  • Review and approve certificates of analysis (CoAs), batch records, and test results.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, EHS, and R&D teams to maintain quality at every stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and SPC.
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, FDA, REACH).

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of quality experience in a chemical manufacturing environment; acid manufacturing preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, cGMP, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience managing lab operations, analytical testing, and chemical specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with quality software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
