
Shelter Support Staff On Call

- $16.50 per hour

- Part-time
- Participate in case conferencing as requested
- Conduct routine curfew and bedtime checks
- Maintain a neat and organized filling system
- Complete emergency house laundry as needed
- Conduct perimeter checks hourly
- Distribute cleaning supplies
- Oversee participants while they take their medications
- Assist participants with daily needs (i.e: personal hygiene, simple problem solving, conflict management, etc)
- Answer phone, handle routine questions and direct calls
- Maintain accurate records of participant contracts through completion of daily logs and participant narrative folders
- Keep log of all donations.
- Keep an inventory of supplies and other essentials.
- Maintain a professional image and procedure for the centers front office.
- Assist the Center’s professional staff in handling participant activities as requested by the supervisor.
- Enter statistics into HMIS, The Salvation Army database and assist with the grant reporting.
- Complete written documentation of participant infractions.
- Assist with the needs of the front office.
- Maintain a neat and organized filling system.
- Assist and/or lead class when needed
- Conduct urine analysis and breathalyzer for participants as needed.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Check and respond to emails and voicemails on a regular basis
- Adhere to confidentiality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level
- High degree of confidentiality
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence
- High degree of organizational skills
- Approach problem solving creatively
- Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks
- Minimum one (1) year social service experience preferred
- ServSafe Food Handlers Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
- Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
- Must be 21 years or older
- Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training
- Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to operate telephone
- Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer
- Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
