Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Lab TechnicianLocation: Madison, WI
Job Type: Full-time, Contract | On-Site
Pay: $27.00/hour- 10% Night Shift differential
Shift Options: Multiple 12-hour rotating shifts (Day & Night)
  • Day Shift (A & B): 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Night Shift (C & D): 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Assignment Length: Long-term temporary with potential for 1-year extension or conversion.Position OverviewThe Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Lab Technician supports cGMP production of APIs and intermediates within a fast-paced laboratory environment. This role requires hands-on operation of manufacturing equipment, adherence to safety and potent compound handling protocols, and effective cross-shift communication.You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while contributing to the team’s success in a multi-shift environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Consistently follow and promote safety protocols and proper PPE usage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and compliance in production areas, with emphasis on potent compound handling.
  • Operate production equipment during manufacturing, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Serve as primary/secondary operator for cGMP manufacturing of APIs/intermediates.
  • Accurately follow written protocols, SOPs, and batch records.
  • Complete and communicate shift hand-offs effectively.
  • Identify and correct safety or process gaps through inspections and audits.
  • Support team performance by participating in inter-shift collaboration and maintaining high lab housekeeping standards.
  • Perform additional departmental tasks as assigned by leadership.
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
  • BS/AS degree with 1–2 years relevant experience, or
  • HS Diploma/equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience
Technical & Professional Skills:
  • Knowledge of cGMP production, batch records, and SOPs
  • Basic computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Email)
  • Strong oral/written communication and documentation skills
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to use hand tools, weighing/measuring devices, and calculators
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs (with assistance or equipment).
  • Comfortable working with highly potent/hazardous materials under appropriate PPE:
  • Respiratory protection (dust masks, half/full face, supplied air)
  • Company uniforms, lab coats, and coveralls/hazmat suits as required
