QA Test Engineer, Automation PlatformOur product runs on millions of smart TVs, set-top boxes, MVPDs, AndroidTV devices, game consoles, mobile phones, and browsers. If a device has a screen or plugs into one, it probably has the app. We take pride in shipping high-quality software to enable a flawless experience on every device everywhere in the world.The Test Automation Platform team provides the core infrastructure and capabilities to enable automated testing of the product at scale. Our Device & Test Automation platform is used to enable other teams to qualify and validate the TV, mobile, and web client applications, partner device implementations, mobile games, and more. We view ourselves as a force multiplier for engineering, providing composable capabilities and pluggable abstractions that allow teams to manage, orchestrate, and analyze their automated tests and test devices. Our platform executes and ingests results for over 3 million test executions daily.What you will do:
  • Work closely with the Test Automation Platform team to validate a multi-phased release of our new testing platform to our external partners
  • Set up and configure test devices across TV, Android, and Web platforms for test runs and analysis
  • Execute suites of automated tests, compare results, and identify regressions between the legacy and new systems
  • Write and maintain end-to-end tests to validate key workflows in the testing platform
  • Document and communicate discrepancies, bugs, or inconsistencies clearly to the engineering team
  • Help refine the validation process and expand test coverage as needed
  • Participate in bug bashes and testing parties to prepare for upcoming releases
  • Assist with the gradual rollout of the new testing platform to our external partners
This role is right for you if:
  • You're comfortable setting up and working with a variety of devices (TVs, Android, Linux devices, web browsers, etc.)
  • You have experience writing or maintaining end-to-end tests for web applications
  • You're detail-oriented and can spot subtle inconsistencies across large test suites
  • You're a clear communicator and an effective collaborator, especially with distributed engineering teams
  • You're comfortable working independently and bringing clarity to ambiguous situations
  • You care deeply about quality and user experience
Bonus Skills:
  • Familiarity with test automation infrastructure or CI/CD systems
  • Experience working in device labs or with test orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and backend/client interactions
  • Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or other frontend test frameworks
  • Previous experience testing media streaming applications or embedded devices
Pay Rate Range:
  • $50-75/hr.
