
Mechanical Project Engineer

- Design and manage vendor relationships for membrane manufacturing equipment.
- Lead or collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams through concept, design, procurement, installation, shakedown, and qualification phases.
- Produce detailed drawings and documentation for fabrication and installation, including sheet metal, framework, piping systems, and instrumentation.
- Supervise contractors and oversee component and vendor selection to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Support installation qualification and continuous improvement of equipment performance and reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical preferred).
- 1+ years of industrial engineering experience, including hands-on work with manufacturing floors or equipment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required), with exposure to 3D modeling considered a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, including both desk-based design (30%), field installation (30%) activities, and manufacturing floor activities (35%), and willingness to work in challenging environments (e.g., high heat, under equipment)
- Familiar with OSHA and local safety regulations, ensuring compliance in all engineering activities
- Ability to travel – 10%, in supporting other Cytiva manufacturing sites, as well as factory acceptance tests
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Expertise in fluid systems design—including tube and pipe systems, pump curves, and chemical compatibility—for applications ranging from flammable chemicals to USP DI water systems.
- Familiarity with classified electrical hazardous locations (Class 1, Division 1 & 2), including standards for mechanical and electrical components used in those environments.
- Hands-on experience with membrane extrusion or quench cast manufacturing, ASME pressure vessels, and installation qualification methods.
