This role focuses on leveraging advanced financial modeling techniques to support budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy, indirect rate management, and strategic decision-making. The Sr. Director, Finance & Strategy will collaborate closely with executive leadership, operational & functional teams to ensure data-driven, actionable insights that foster business expansion and long-term top and bottom-line value creation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead development and maintenance of complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Build and refine pricing and cost volume models for competitive bid preparations, incorporating cost element structures, basis of estimate, price to win risk analysis and profitability metrics.
  • Design dynamic financial models to analyze wrap rate structures and recommended optimization strategies for profitability and compliance.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess financial impact of GovCon customer driven, dynamic budget adjustments, project specific incremental fundings, internal business decisions, contracts, M&A opportunities, and market changes.
  • Provide detailed financial insights through modeling to support strategic initiatives, including new business ventures and capital allocation decisions.
  • Partner with business development and capture teams to integrate financial modeling inputs into pipelines as well as outputs into proposal strategies and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with operations to align program budgets and realism forecasts based on actual performance using variance analysis and advanced predictive modeling.
  • Advise executive leadership with data-driven financial insights, corporate level risk assessments, and recommendations supported by robust financial models.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFAR, CAS, DCMA, and DCAA standards regarding pricing and indirect cost allocation as reflected in financial models.
  • Act as a financial liaison with government contracting officers, banking partners, and vendors, presenting complex model results in clear terms.
  • Partner closely with the Controller to align financial planning models with accounting data and reporting systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience with a significant emphasis on advanced financial modeling, including 5+ years in a leadership role within a government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building, validating, and using complex financial models to drive pricing strategy, cost volume development, and federal bid preparation.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS.
  • Familiarity with indirect rates (pools and bases), service centers, and indirect rate development.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling tools; experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP systems strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to conduct scenario, sensitivity, and risk analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills capable of conveying complex model results to executives and non-financial audiences.
