This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical work associated with industrial manufacturing equipment, new installations, facility expansions, and retrofits. The Estimator will analyze project requirements, interpret drawings and specifications, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to deliver timely and precise estimates that support competitive bids and successful project execution.Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for industrial process projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
- Develop estimates for power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and equipment installations.
- Evaluate RFQs, RFPs, and bid documents to determine project requirements and risks.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure alignment of scope, design, and budget.
- Obtain and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Maintain accurate estimating databases, unit costs, and historical data for benchmarking future projects.
- Prepare proposal documents, including estimate summaries, clarifications, and assumptions.
- Support value engineering efforts and provide cost-saving recommendations.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and client discussions as required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems including power distribution, MCCs, transformers, motor control, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency with estimating software tools, SAGE
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Experience with industrial process facilities such as chemical, pharmaceuticals, or heavy manufacturing.
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards.
- Prior field experience in industrial electrical construction or maintenance.
- $60 to $72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
