Job Description:Nonprofit organization, focused on historic preservation, is searching for a detailed, organized and experienced individual to join our team. This on-site full-time position offers a downtown office in historic Fredericksburg with a congenial working environment and excellent benefits. This is not a remote work opportunity.Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of the monthly accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month-end bank account reconciliations.
  • Daily cash receipt reconciliation.
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance and HR on revising financial policy and procedures that comply with FASB and GAAP standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules for the annual audit and 990.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in General Ledger Accounting.
  • Proven proficiency using Microsoft Office in particular, Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
