- Recruiting, orienting, and supervising faculty members for the department.
- Conducting regular observations and evaluations of faculty to ensure excellence in teaching.
- Supporting faculty in their professional development.
- Assuring correct scheduling and registration of returning students.
- Participating in the budgeting process to meet program needs.
- Reviewing student progress and eligibility for graduation.
- Collaborating on curriculum development and updates.
- Organizing advisory committee meetings.
- Participating in accreditation self-studies.
- Maintaining department equipment and coordination with externship placements.
- Advising students on their academic journey.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
- Education: Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
- Experience:
o Minimum of 3 years in the last 5 years as a practicing surgical technologist OR instructor in surgical technology.
- Teaching: Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Management: Management experience is required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
