Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:As the Program Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Recruiting, orienting, and supervising faculty members for the department.
  • Conducting regular observations and evaluations of faculty to ensure excellence in teaching.
  • Supporting faculty in their professional development.
  • Assuring correct scheduling and registration of returning students.
  • Participating in the budgeting process to meet program needs.
  • Reviewing student progress and eligibility for graduation.
  • Collaborating on curriculum development and updates.
  • Organizing advisory committee meetings.
  • Participating in accreditation self-studies.
  • Maintaining department equipment and coordination with externship placements.
  • Advising students on their academic journey.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.

Qualifications:Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
  • Education: Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
  • Experience:
o Minimum 5 years experience in scrub role; AND
o Minimum of 3 years in the last 5 years as a practicing surgical technologist OR instructor in surgical technology.
  • Teaching: Previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Management: Management experience is required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
