- Supervising approximately 80 Detective Investigators in all aspects of their work.
- Coordinating investigations with and act as liaison to representatives of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and the District Attorney’s staff.
- Directing and coordinating the activities of the investigative staff.
- Developing operating procedures for investigative methods and supervising the activities of investigators.
- Overseeing the training of investigators in the use of technical and electronic law enforcement equipment, tactical and legal procedures.
- Supervising complex and highly confidential investigations.
- Supervising the collection of evidence and assisting Assistant District Attorneys in preparation for grand jury, hearings and trial.
- Supervising court-ordered eavesdropping, undercover surveillance operations and investigations.
- Overseeing, locating, transporting and protecting witnesses.
- Executing search warrants and effecting arrests.
- Utilizing a variety of investigative equipment and law enforcement databases.
- Fifteen years of diverse investigative experience in a local law enforcement agency.
- Five years of experience supervising detectives.
- A demonstrated record of working collaboratively with federal, state and local law enforcement.
- Extensive experience investigating a variety of crimes, including violent and organized crime, financial, fraud and Internet-based crimes.
- Experience in surveillance techniques including eavesdropping warrants, and video surveillance, conducting line-ups, photo arrays, interviewing witnesses, developing informants and locating witnesses. Familiarity with law enforcement databases and strong technical computer skills.
- A valid New York State Driver’s license.
- The ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Must be qualified to carry a firearm in New York State.
