  • The Optometrist provides professional medical services, particularly optometry, in an outpatient setting.
  • Perform diagnostic examinations for visual and ocular problems, including neuromuscular issues and binocular anomalies, and prescribe corrective measures like lenses and medications.
  • Treat complex visual and ocular disorders using advanced optometric techniques.
  • Utilize lab and radiology services to assess eye and systemic conditions.
  • Administer various therapeutic medications to manage eye conditions and trauma.
  • The Optometrist performs minor surgical procedures such as foreign body removal and suture removal.
  • Offer outpatient emergency eye care, diagnosing and treating trauma and pathology.
  • Receive referrals for specialty consultation and manage ocular diseases in coordination with other healthcare professionals.
  • Direct optometric technicians during clinical examinations.
  • Document patient care using the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Consult with senior optometrists for guidance on treatment protocols and complex cases.
  • The Optometrist assists the Chief of Optometry with administrative tasks as needed.
Optometrist - REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree: Must have a Doctor of Optometry.
  • Certifications: Need certification for Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents along with Basic Life Support.
  • Education: Graduated from an institution approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the past three (3) years as an Optometrist.
  • Licensure: Shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
