Note: Summer school paraeducators can enroll their child(ren) at no cost.Washington State requires paraeducators meet the following requirements. For more complete position details, please see the attached Paraeducator II job description.Must meet WA State Paraeducator requirements:
  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,
In addition, a paraeducator must also meet one of the following: * Receive a passing grade on the Education Testing Service paraeducator assessment (ETS ParaPro); OR
  • Hold an associate degree; OR
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an accredited institution of higher learning; OR
  • Have completed a registered apprenticeship program.
Upon hire, successful candidate must provide: * A copy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts.

  • Insurance: This summer school position alone is not eligible for insurance. If combined with another position or assignment during the school year, including substituting, an employee anticipated to work at least 630 hours in a school year is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.*
  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.
  • Paid Time Off: This position is not eligible for paid time off.
*Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the . Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more for SVSD in a school year, including substitute work, is eligible for benefits. Eligibility will be re-established at the start of each school year.
