Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance, location and salary range at the time of the offer.ResponsibilitiesProvide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist. Perform
activities or tasks in specialty pharmacy services.
  • Perform specialized duties such as hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear, and Patient Assistance Program (PAP) as a pharmacy technician.
  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing system. Prepare orders, maintain inventory, and repackage bulk medications. Receive and store incoming supplies.
  • Serve as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing necessary
information. Communicate with external resources such as retail pharmacies, provider officers, and data exchanges. * Identify and assist with patient medication access including, benefit investigation, priorauthorization, and financial assistance. * Assist Pharmacist in preparation of patient education materials.
  • May give immunizations in accordance with state laws.
RequirementsLicensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
  • One or more of the following required:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional PreferencesAdditional Responsibilities:Administrative duties, such as handling incoming telephone calls related to such matters as refilling prescriptions, rescheduling appointments, and clarifying dosing. Contact no-show patients and reschedule their appointments.An example of tasks may include: Calling a patient with an in-range INR, which included associated tasks such as interviewing, documenting, scheduling the next INR determination (with supervision and sign-off by a clinical pharmacist).Additional Preferences:Three years of practice experience as a pharmacy technician is highly preferred, with two years immediately prior to working as an ambulatory care or community/retail pharmacy technician or clinical pharmacy technician.
