- Plan, configure, install and maintain studio camera placements and related video components and infrastructure (cameras, lenses, camera mounts, video processing unit connections, associated cabling and connectors, related mounts and gear, etc.).
- Establish and refine video related installation and maintenance processes. Collaborate with, report and make recommendations to management and other departments concerning video related issues, procedures, improvements, quality control, etc.
- In addition to primary video duties, assist with the overall construction and maintenance of the studios and associated elements (gaming tables, low-voltage cabling, lights, decorative elements, studio floor infrastructure, etc.).
- Assist in establishment and refinement of work processes, resource planning, time and material management, etc.
- Plan tasks and delegate to other team members as necessary and when appropriate. Attend planning sessions and meetings as needed.
- Be aware of and follow regulations (Gaming regulations, Evolution Policies, OSHA compliance, etc.), guide teammates in compliance and report areas that need attention to the Team Lead or Manager.
- Request, order, maintain and be responsible for needed equipment, tools and materials.
- Assist the Team Lead to model proper procedures and techniques. Help to observe and assess new employees' training needs/progress to the Senior Studio Support Specialist, Team Lead and Manager.
- Occasionally help to prepare and provide required reports, provide needed information to team members and other departments. Keep track of important updates, information, etc. and relay that information in a timely manner to fellow crew members.
- Perform other duties, as asked by the Team Lead or Manager, which are related to this position.
- Secondary (higher, technical) education or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrable experience working with cameras and related video technology, hardware, software, etc.
- Understanding of video production concepts and practices (e.g. camera placement, studio lighting, light/color balance, focus/zoom/exposure, aspect ratios, video switching, frame rates, etc.).
- Experience with video encoding hardware and working with video streams (desired).
- Network, computer and other peripheral device troubleshooting (desired).
- Ability to create and terminate SDI and XLR cables (desired).
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Understanding of and ability to apply/interpret measurements and related tools
- Experience working with assorted building materials (e.g. wood, metal, tile, plastic, carpet, etc.)
- Basic understanding of electricity and electrical wiring concepts. Experience soldering and terminating low-voltage cables are a desired asset.
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills (e.g. email, instant messaging, MS Office or similar apps, etc.
- Punctuality, reliability and experience working with a team.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel (within North America and abroad).
- Willingness to work overtime when required and to be “on-call” for emergency situations.
