As our Trader Junior, you will manage portfolio optionality and customer requests while optimizing load and assets, including BESS, across ERCOT, PJM, and the Northeast markets. You will be responsible for managing and deploying options and non-linear power positions in North American markets, with a particular focus on ERCOT, PJM, and the Northeast. Additionally, you will collaborate with the retail and asset optimization teams to develop and execute non-linear risk management strategies. This position is based in Houston, TX, reporting to the VP of Power and Gas.What You'll Bring
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree with coursework in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, we will consider five (5) years of relevant professional experience in which you gained practical knowledge of trading strategies, market dynamics, risk management techniques, and pricing methodologies specific to electricity markets
  • A minimum of two (2) years of options trading experience in power managing power derivatives, analyzing market trends, and working closely with cross-functional teams such as risk, portfolio management, and structuring to support trading decisions
  • You have a strong working knowledge of North American power market fundamentals
  • You are proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, which is valuable for developing trading algorithms and analyzing large datasets
  • You enjoy problem-solving and creating trading opportunities
  • You are a clear communicator, open to dialogue and debate
  • You work autonomously and adapt to change
Additional Details
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy working three (3) days in-office and two (2) days remote

CompensationSalary Range: $113,900 - $174,570 USD annuallyThis represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
